Hala Salem is a Lebanese designer and artist based in Paris, recognized for her singular aesthetic that fuses Parisian refinement with Levantine warmth. Her work moves fluidly across disciplines, illustration, art direction, surface design, and product development, bridging the worlds of fashion, interiors, and visual storytelling.
A graduate of Académie Charpentier, Hala began her career as an Art Director in top-tier advertising agencies including CLM/BBDO and FCB, shaping campaigns for major beauty and luxury brands. But it was her instinct for independent expression that led her to launch Graphik Candies in 2005, an innovative line of decorative wall decals that quickly caught the eye of Paris’ most discerning concept stores, from Le Palais de Tokyo to Colette.
Her visual sensibility soon drew the attention of the Costes Group, where she collaborated closely with Gilbert and Jean-Louis Costes as an Art Advisor, shaping the visual language of one of their boutique hotels. That experience marked a shift, deepening her connection to interior and spatial design.
From there, Hala’s creative path expanded. Her wallpaper collections for La Maison Pierre Frey blend painterly charm with a respect for craftsmanship, while her growing work in furniture and object design reflects a poetic tension between form and function.
She has since collaborated with global names like Coach, Aquazzura, Clarins, Luisa Via Roma, Lacoste, Reckitt Benckiser, and Pierre Frey. Her work has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, L’Officiel, Living UK, The Coveteur, and more.
Rooted in heritage and shaped by global perspective, Hala Salem continues to create timeless, emotionally layered work that lives beautifully across space and surface
